Counselling Therapy with Guitty Bonner

Guitty is a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists having trained in Newcastle-upon-Tyne at the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy and Counselling (accredited by BACP and UKCP), established over 30 years ago. Apart from holding the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (with Distinction), Guitty also holds a Bachelor’s science degree (BSc Honours 2:1) in Human Biology and a teaching qualification (PGCE) in senior school science.

She works with adults and youngsters (from approximately 15 years of age upwards) and from all walks of life. She offers both individual and couples’ counselling.

Guitty came to work as a psychotherapeutic counsellor in later life. See page on ‘More about Guitty and her approach’. She first trained and worked successfully at a GP practice for 3 years receiving a number of varied referrals before setting up her own rural practice in Northumberland.

She has supported clients with a wide range of emotional struggles e.g. depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, separation, divorce, OCD, anger, social isolation, ageing, relationship tensions and struggles arising from chronic illness/conditions such as pain. Guitty wishes to reassure her clients of the importance of maintaining boundaries especially confidentiality in all matters. She complies with the BACP Ethical Framework and enjoys updating her skills through Continual Professional Development.
